The analytical method was established for determination of insecticide nicotine and its metabolite cotinine in several animal commodities using liquid chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry(LC-MS/MS). In order to verify the applicability, the method was optimized for determining nicotine and its metabolite cotinine in various livestock products including beef, pork, chicken, milk and egg.
