Design educators have researched human emotion as a growing concern for the designer in the coming generations. It has been found that emotional intelligence affects how individuals behave. Some new design disciplines are becoming deeply engaged with emotional intelligence. However, design topics related to emotional concerns have not yet been widely discussed among design students. Since design students do not have sufficient knowledge of human emotion, they would not understand how emotions influence themselves, the design process, and design outcomes. They also would not actively investigate knowledge-related emotional concerns. When design students have issues related to emotions, they do not have sufficient knowledge or ability to handle difficulties in the design process. In addition, design students do not know how to apply emotional concerns to the design process or outcomes to respond to the design trend of human emotions. To examine the relationship between emotions and design learning, this research was conducted through a questionnaire about the experience and emotion-tracking with a phone application during the design process. The research findings from this study enhance the idea that emotion may improve design education for students.
