Recently, due to Industry 4.0, information has been diffused at an astonishing rate. Disinformation has become one of the significant issues in the digitalised diplomatic practices. Diverse agents reacted to the disinformation in a varied way. This article aims at reviewing the EU—where faces substantial challenges. The authors specifically concern how the EU’s diplomatic agency (EEAS) reacted the disinformation challenges by focusing on the EEAS’ Task Force Team and Rapid Alert System. Subsequently, it examined the effectiveness of the EU’s fact-checking practices based on the eight fundamental limitations suggested by Vinhas and Bastos (2022). It also considered how the EU has supported people and media in its neighbouring regions. The results point out that it is urgent to establish an institutional framework and improve the EU citizens’ information literacy.
