According�to�oracle�bone�scripts��Shang�dynasty�often�waged�war� against�strong�nations�around�central�China��called�Fang�方���for� examples�Gong�Fang� 方���Tu�Fang�土方���Qiang�Fang�羌方���Zhou� Fang�周方���Ren�Fang�人方���etc��Sometimes�the�king�of�Shang�dynasty� went�to�war�in�person��It�was�a�long�expedition�to�take�two�or�three� months�at�least�because�it�was�five�or�eight�hundred�kilometers�from� those�nations�to�Shang��The�fact�that�the�king�made�a�journey�can�be� found�in�the�augural�scripts�which�had�been�written�after�an�fortune� forecast�for�coming�ten�days��called�Bu�Xun�卜旬���Wherever�the� king�might�be��he�had�to�perform�‘the�ten�days�forecast’��So�when�he� performed�the�forecast�outside�the�capital�city��he�had�to�write�where� he�was�on�an�oracle�bone��According�to�those�scripts�we�can�find�the� itinerary�of�the�king��especially�outside�the�capital�city��It�was�very� important�for�even�king�to�decide�which�direction��which�month��and� which�day�depended�on�oracle�bone�forecast�in�going�out�or�entering� the�capital�city�� On�the�other�hand��compared�to�that�of�king��the�itinerary�of� foreigners�who�had�been�captured�alive�in�the�battle�with�Shang�showed� a�dramatic�contrast��Captured�in�the�battle��they�were�escorted�to�Shang� hundreds�of�kilometers�away��It�was�for�the�first�time�for�them�to�make� a�long�journey��though�it�must�be�a�terribly�tortured�journey�to�death��Even�if�they�were�alive�after�a�tortured�journey��they�had�to�meet�the� more�tragic�fate��Most�of�them�had�to�be�decapitated�as�a�sacrifice�for� natural�gods�and�ancestral�gods�in�the�ritual�ceremony�of�Shang��A� human�sacrifice�was�usual�and�culminating�in�Shang�dynasty��If�they� were�alive��the�rest�of�them�had�to�be�punished�to�cut�the�part�of�their� body��for�examples�a�penis��a�leg��a�nose��skins��etc��and�had�to�serve�a� kind�of�shamanistic�jobs�
