Recently, there have been various studies on the efficacy of complex extracts in which various components are incorporated into cosmetics rather than the effects of single extracts. The anti-oxidative and anti-inflammatory effects of mixture were investigated in vitro for use as cosmetic materials. Green tea (GT) by supercritical CO2 extraction, Oenanthe javanica (OJ), Perilla frutescens var (PF), Zanthoxylum piperitum (ZP) by steam distillation, Burdock (Arctium lappa L.) (BA), Orostachys japonicus A. Berger (OA), Puerariae Radix (PR) by ethanol were mixed same ratio (HM). MTSassay was used to confirm the toxicity of RAW 264.7 cells. When the survival rate of the control was taken as 100%, the cell survival rate of individual extracts was 87% or more at 1, 10 and 100 ug/ml, the cell survival rate of 94% or more was confirmed at 50, 250, and 500 ppm of HM. The DPPH radical scavenging activity of the extracts showed the highest level of 90.47% in the ZP extracts. HM showed anti-oxidative effect of 92.47% EDA similar to Ascorbic Acid. Inhibition of NO production and inhibition of TNF-α production were observed for inhibition of inflammatory response. The ZP extracts showed the highest yield of 28.19% NO production at 100 ug/ml. The inhibitory effect of NO production was of HM was 75.19% from 500 ppm. TNF-α of HM also showed an excellent inhibitory effect of 621.29 pg/mL. As a result, the interference effect of the complex mixture was insufficient and seven kinds of natural plants were mixed to prove effectiveness as a cosmetic ingredient for preventing pruritus and inflammation.
