From the perspective of 'history for the public', public history requires historical imagination. The narrative structure has more power than the historical facts themselves. This trend is strengthened in public history projects, where nationalistic imagination works at the center of interpreting text and functions as a kind of counter history narratives. The border between the state and the people becomes more clear, and the opposing narrative is deleted. Popular history instructors and movies "Herstory," which think about Japanese Military Sexual Slavery, focusing on these nationalistic narratives. Recently, however, plays such as 1945 and Princesses have expanded the scope of reproduction of Japanese Military Sexual Slavery by featuring Korean Military Sexual Slavery, and the U.S. Military Sexual Slavery. Through a transnational approach, it questions the identity of Koreans, connects the Japanese Military Sexual Slavery problem with the sex industry, and reminds us of the presentity of the Military Sexual Slavery. This deromanticized historical imagination shows that cultural memories surrounding the Japanese Military Sexual Slavery will diversify the field of public history.
