The purpose of this study is a qualitative study to search the experience of child rearing of divorced single-parent woman. Data collection period was from May 2012 to July 2012. Participants were intentionally sampled three consenting to participate as a single-mother woman over five years of raising their children after divorce. Data collection was conducted by using two in-depth interviews and recordings after obtaining the consent of the participants until the data reached saturation and analyzed by applying the phenomenological method of Colaizzi. As a result, 42 structural meaning, 12 theme clusters, and 4 theme categories were derived. The four theme categories appeared as 'Vague hope', 'Coming reality', 'A roly-poly that must stand on its own', and 'Changing life'. The central phenomenon of experience revealed through these categories can be summarized as 'life on their own' and 'change'.
