The aim of this study identified the relationship between loneliness and its various influencing factors, derived from previous research, by age group in adulthood. To meet the purpose of this study, a hierarchical regression analysis model was used based on a survey of Busan citizens. The results show that firstly, the old over 60 was the highest level of loneliness relatively compared with other age groups. Secondly, when controlling all other variables, the influence of social relations was followed: 20-30 group 8.4%, 40-50 group 15.8, over 60 groups 15.8%. Therefore as the age increases, social relation factors’ influence on loneliness would increase. Thirdly, online social relations were more important in the 20-30 group and offline relationships over 60 group but, the relationship density between family members was more important in the 40-50 group. Based on these results, we suggested theoretical, practical discussions and recommendations.
