이 연구는 시각장애학교 합주부 학생의 합주활동에 대한 인식을 분석하여 합주활동의 활성화를 위한 기초자료를 제공하기 위해 수행되었다. 이를 위해 전국 시각장애학교에서 합주활동을 하고 있는 초ㆍ중ㆍ고등학생 131명을 대상으로 설문지 조사하여 얻어진 연구 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 주로 연주하는 악기는 남학생은 ‘금관악기’ 여학생과 초ㆍ중ㆍ고등학생 모두 ‘목관악기’이며, 악기를 배운 기간과 합주부 활동 경력은 초ㆍ중학생은 ‘1년~5년’, 고등학생은 ‘6년 이상’이 가장 높게 나타났다. 합주부 가입 동기는 남녀학생과 선천성학생은 ‘선생님이나 선배의 권유’, 후천성학생은 ‘취미생활을 갖기 위해’이며, 합주악기의 선택은 선천성학생은 ‘선생님의 권유’가 후천성학생은 ‘자신의 선택’이 가장 높게 나타났다. 연주하는 합주곡의 장르는 주로 ‘클래식’이며, 합주곡의 난이도는 성별 시력정도별로 모두 ‘보통’이며, 교사와 학부모의 호응도는 남녀학생 모두 ‘보통’ 이상으로 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 음악성적 향상도는 남녀학생과 초ㆍ중ㆍ고등학생 모두 ‘보통’ 이상, 취미와 적성계발의 기여도는 남녀학생 ‘그렇다’ 이상으로, 합주활동이 주는 행복감은 초ㆍ중ㆍ고등학생 모두 ‘그렇다’ 이상이며, 향후 합주활동의 지속성 여부에는 남녀학생 모두 모두 ‘그렇다’ 이상으로 매우 긍정적으로 나타났다. 합주활동으로 배운 점은 남학생은 ‘연주력 향상’, 여학생은 ‘협동심과 책임감’ 또한 초등학생은 ‘연주력 향상’, 중학생은 ‘공동체 의식과 책임감’, 고등학생은 ‘협동심’이 가장 높게 나타났다. 셋째, 점자 악보의 도움 여부는 초등학생은 ‘도움되지 않는다’가, 중ㆍ고등학생은 ‘보통이다’가 가장 높고, 합주시설의 만족도는 남녀학생 모두 ‘그렇다’ 이상으로 높게 나타났다. 그리고 합주부 운영에 가장 시급한 점으로는 초ㆍ중ㆍ고등학생 모두 ‘연습시간의 적절한 조절’이 가장 높게 나타났다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 후속 연구에 필요한 사항을 제언하였다.
The purpose of this study is to providing fundamental informations for vitalizing and efficiently instructing the ensemble activity in schools for visually impaired students by analyzing perceptions of students on the activities. For this purpose, the questionnaire survey was conducted over 131 students who have participated in the activity in schools for visually impaired students nationwide and the conclusions obtained from the results are summarized as follows.
First, the most dominant musical instrument is ‘brass wind instrument’ in male students while in female and primary, middle and high school students it Is ‘woodwind’. For the period they have played the instruments and participated in the ensemble activity, ‘1~5years’ in primary and middle schools students and ‘more than 6 years’ in high school students are dominant. For the motivation of participation, ‘recommendation of teachers or seniors’ is the highest in both male and female students and students with inherent impairment while ‘for hobby’ is the highest in students with acquired impairment. For the reason of choosing the instruments, ‘recommendation of teachers’ in students with inherent impairment and ‘my own choice’ in students with acquired impairment is the highest. The most dominant genre is ‘classic’, the level of difficulty Is ‘middle’ in both male and female throughout all over eyesight, and the responsiveness of teachers and parents is more than normal in both male and female students.
Second, the degree of improving musical record is more than middle throughout all the students, the degree of content as hobby and developing aptitude is more than ‘positive’ in both male and female students, the satisfaction with the ensemble activity is more than ‘positive’ in all primary, middle and hight school students, and whether to continue the activity is all more than ‘positive’ in both male and female students. For what they have learnt from the activity, ‘improved performance’ in male and elementary school students, ‘cooperation and responsibility’ in female students, ‘communal sense and responsibility’ in middle school students, and ‘cooperation’ in high school students are the highest.
Third, for usefulness of braille music, ‘no use’ in elementary school students and ‘middle’ in middle and high school students are the highest and for the satisfaction with the facilities, more than ‘positive’ is dominant in both male and female students. And what is most urgent in managing the activity turns out to be ‘appropriate time of exercise’ for elementary, middle and high school students.
