The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors of sustainability of the spatial composition and to review step-by-step considerations for the sustainability in Dominique Perrault’s Architectural Design Works. Looking through Dominique Perrault’s nine projects, we could figure out the factors of sustainability and sum them up as follows. Building sustainability requires both green aspects and usefulness. At the design stage, it involves design philosophy and pro-environmental features which aimed at being harmony with nature. The Sustainability at construction and operation steps require the constant collaboration between designers, planning experts, contractors considering function, location and user behavior analysis. This study will provide a new aspect of basic research on sustainability in contemporary architecture.
