In this study, we analyzed the evaluation results of energy-related certification items in green building certification (G-SEED) using certificated sampling cases. We reviewed the acquisition status and the limitation of these certification items and proposed improvement measures for G-SEED. This study dealt with a sample of 48 cases extracted from certified buildings in 2020 by stratified random sampling. Six certification items related to the energy efficiency of buildings were considered in this study. We analyzed the correlation of the total score with the points of items and the evaluation results of building use types. According to the results, the obtained points of energy-related certification items had a high contribution and impact on the certification grade of buildings in G-SEED. The higher the G-SEED certification grade, the higher the acquisition points of energy-related certification items. Residential buildings with 1st-grade, 2nd-grade, and 3rd-grade G-SEED certification obtained a building energy efficiency rating of grade 1 or higher, and non-residential buildings obtained a building energy efficiency rating of grade 1+ or higher. We found that 66.7% of G-SEED-certified residential buildings had energy source monitoring devices, and 43.5% of non-residential buildings got points in the certification item for energy monitoring and management devices. On the other hand, the certification items for testing, adjusting and balancing (TAB) and commissioning, lighting energy saving, and the plan for solar radiation control had a low level of application. Monitoring the operation status and revising the evaluation criteria in G-SEED is necessary to promote green buildings and carbon neutrality.
