The Tempest moves toward the essence of the nature and reaches an ending of reconciliation and forgiveness beyond the structure of tension and conflict through internal sensitivity, transcendence, and dynamic and sensible action implied in auditivity. The Tempest deals with the confusion happening within the limited temporality of a day against the backdrop of an island. Here, a day represents the time of an abyss with a life compressed into it and the totality of time from the occurrence of an event to its end. The island provides rich experiences with auditory materials from nature, serving as an overtone and basso continuo to support events. They make the island powerful and stable topography with harmony between sensitivity and idea. The Tempest emphasizes hearing and manipulates characters with magical music and dynamically unfolds events. Shakespeare organizes the play in a contrapuntal structure to juxtapose backgrounds, characters, and events and shows opposite duality even in a character. By employing a polyphonic technique to advance various characters and events simultaneously around the main characters and events, he elevates the work to a level of persuasive aesthetics.
