A Case Study on the Curriculum for the Training of ElementaryTeachers at Normal University in Zhejiang Province, ChinaDa Xing, Dugyu Kim, & Gyun Heo Abstract: The purpose of this study is to analyze the current status of the elementary education curriculum at two universities in Zhejiang Province to derive strengths and improvements, and to provide implications for the primary education major of Chinese Normal University. As a case study method, a status analysis was conducted on two universities in Zhejiang Province. Curriculum goals, curriculum structure, and curriculum content were compared and analyzed in three aspects. Firstly, the educational goals of the two universities were similar. Secondly, the structure of the curriculum could be classified into four types. Thirdly, the contents of the curriculum were also compared and analyzed according to the structure. Both universities need to improve on the following points. Firstly the educational goal was not clear, so improvement was needed. Secondly, in terms of the structure of the curriculum, it was necessary to increase the proportion of elective and practical subjects. Last but not least, some curriculum contents were not in keeping with the trend of the times, therefore the contents of the curriculum were needed to be revised in accordance with the recent trend of curriculum integration.
