Purpose: The purpose of this study is to develop a model of participation in leisure activities based on the theoretical framework of recreational specialization and serious leisure. Methods: To this end, literature review and expert meetings were conducted. Result: Through this, a 9-channel (3x3) model of the leisure activity participation process was developed with the emotional aspect of recreational specialization as the axis of commitment and cognition and behavior as the axis of expertise. The model developed through this study consists of a total of 9 areas, of which 3 areas can be divided into daily leisure and 4 serious leisure areas. Conclusion: It is possible to trace the path of the leisure participant's development process, and it can be expected that serious leisure can be judged.
