ABSTRACT: The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of shoulder and neck stabilization exercises using slings on the posture and function of female university students in their 20s with round shoulders and forward head posture. The subjects were 25 women who voluntarily agreed to participate in this study and performed shoulder and neck stabilization exercises using slings for 20 minutes, 8 times over 4 weeks. Measurements were taken pre, post, and post-2 interventions. The round shoulder posture and scapular position were measured using a ruler, and the range of motion of the cervical spine was measured using a gravity angle meter. The cranial vertebral angle and cranial rotation angle were measured using Image J. There was a statistically significant difference in the round shoulder posture within the group (p<.05). The results of the contrast test showed that there was a significant difference within the group pre- and post-2 intervention with respect to both shoulders (p<.05). There was also a statistically significant difference in the scapular position within the group (p<.05). The results of the contrast test showed that there was a significant difference pre- and post-1 intervention and pre- and post-2 intervention (p<.05). With respect to the range of motion of the cervical joint, both lateral bending, extension, flexion, and left rotation all had statistically significant differences within the group. The results of the contrast test showed that there were significant differences within the group with respect to both lateral bending and flexion pre- and post-2 intervention (p<.05). The left rotation showed a significant difference pre- and post-1 intervention and pre- and post-2 intervention (p<.05). There was a statistically significant difference in the head posture within the group (p<0.05). The results of the contrast test showed that there was a significant difference between pre- and post-2 intervention (p<0.05). As a result of applying the sling exercises to women in their 20s, the round shoulder posture and forward head posture were improved, Therefore, it is thought that exercise using sling will help improve the posture and quality of life of patients with shoulder and neck pain, and it is expected to be more effective if sling exercise is performed for a long time.
