The development of modern medicine and science and technology has increased the average life expectancy of humans, and the resulting aging phenomenon is a social phenomenon facing the world, and the growth of the elderly population is accelerating. Due to this phenomenon, the definition and characteristics of the existing elderly were newly defined, and "active senior", a term referring to those in their 50s and 60s who relish consumption and leisure life and participate actively in social activities, emerged.
As the quality of life improves, this generation is making efforts to maintain a successful old-age life, such as trying to perceive their ego and body with the aim of balancing not only physical health but also psychological health. Considering that keeping active seniors healthy for a long time in old age is a key concept of successful aging, physical self-perception, which subjectively perceives one"s own health and recognizes one"s health status, is expected to have an important influence. This shows a correlation with physical self-perception. It suggests the possibility of variables mediating the relationship between physical self-perception, successful aging, and beauty healthcare behavior.
Therefore, this study aims to examine how physical self-perception and positive psychological capital affect successful aging and beauty healthcare behavior in active seniors, and to determine whether positive psychological capital has a mediating effect in the relationship between physical self-perception and beauty healthcare behavior, and between physical self-perception and successful aging.
