The purpose of this study is to empirically analyze the effects of grit of personal characteristics related to job satisfaction of early childhood teachers, emotional support of directors and fellow teachers of environmental characteristics on job satisfaction, and the mediating effects of emotional support of directors and fellow teachers in the relationship between grit and job satisfaction. In order to achieve the purpose of this study, 322 early childhood teachers working in Gwangju Metropolitan City were selected as research subjects and a survey was conducted to draw the following results. First, the grit of early childhood teachers composed of passion, persistence, and interest persistence had a significant effect on job satisfaction, and the emotional support of the director and fellow teachers had a significant effect on job satisfaction. Second, in the relationship between grit and job satisfaction of early childhood teachers, emotional support of directors and fellow teachers was found to have a significant effect as a partial mediating variable. This suggests that the grit of early childhood teachers and the emotional support of directors and fellow teachers are important variables that can enhance job satisfaction. Therefore, in order to improve the quality of early childhood education through the improvement of job satisfaction of early childhood teachers, it is necessary for early childhood teachers to strengthen the core competence of grit and to find ways to build an emotional support system for directors and fellow teachers in kindergartens.
