In recent years, the importance of public architecture has been emphasized by national and local governments, leading to revisions in related legislation. However, challenges in the operation of public architecture design procurement systems have been identified. There is a lack of systematic research on improving these systems. This study employs Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) analysis to identify the success factors and priorities in public architecture procurement systems and to explore improvement strategies. Through investigations into case studies in Seoul, Yeongju, and Paju, along with expert interviews and surveys, the study found that architectural planning and design review take precedence, followed by competitive tendering and bidding methods. Consequently, enhancing the involvement of public architects, forming expert panels, and establishing criteria for public architecture reviews are recommended for proactive implementation.
