The COVID-19 pandemic caused significant disruptions to global operations and supply chains. How firms coordinate efforts to collectively compete as supply chains is a key concern of supply chain management scholars and practitioners. Supply chain competences, such as relational competence and information technology (IT) competence, have been recognized as critical factors to promote supply chain collaboration capability for obtaining supply chain performance. Whereas prior researches focused on the positive results of collaboration capability for supply chain performance, little empirical research has studied on its facilitators, leaving the gap this study seeks to fill. We draw on resource orchestration theory (ROT) to develop our research model. According to this theory, a firm can exploit the full potential of its resources and capabilities only when these are deployed in a complementary manner. In this paper, we intend to extend the stream of research in Supply Chain Management (SCM) by systematically identifying the antecedents and consequences of supply chain collaboration capability between supply chain partners. The theoretical contributions and managerial implications of the study are discussed.
