Currently, intelligent shoe cabinets face a series of challenges in terms of usage and user experience, including low utilization rates, suboptimal experiences, and limited functionality. In light of these challenges, this study employs a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative and quantitative research methods to enhance the design process and create an intelligent shoe cabinet that aligns with user needs, ultimately increasing user satisfaction with the use of intelligent shoe cabinets. Through user interviews and surveys, a comprehensive set of user requirements was gathered. The Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) was then applied to conduct a hierarchical analysis of these requirements, establishing their relative weights. Subsequently, employing Quality Function Deployment (QFD), these user requirements were effectively translated into tangible design elements, providing concrete guidance for designers. The study results indicate that the primary user requirements were ranked by importance as follows: functionality 0.57, structure 0.286, and interaction 0.143. Following the optimization through the AHP-QFD integrated method, the design elements of the intelligent shoe cabinet were accurately and scientifically transformed, leading to a better fulfillment of user needs. The theoretical approach of this study not only enhances the scientific rigor and accuracy of product design but also provides designers with an effective tool to address user requirements in practical design. Additionally, it offers theoretical support for the study of requirements in other complex and multi-type products.
