The development of BIM models, 3D drawings and quantity takeoffs, process simulations, and cloud-based services, all of which fundamentally require a 3D model, are essential to construction management enabled by smart construction technologies. This study aimed to enhance the efficiency of acquiring construction project information and reconstructing the site. This paper presents a method to generate a 3D model of the target object from smartphone images taken from multiple angles and reference points measured using a simple distance measurement application without the need for expensive on-site measuring equipment. The method enables the 3D reconstruction of the site and assesses the applicability of the 3D modeling results through the experimental application. The results indicated that 3D models based on absolute coordinates can be generated efficiently from multi-angle images captured using a smartphone. Furthermore, the proposed 3D modeling technique revealed its potential for use in reconstructing the construction site by process. These findings suggest that this technology can be utilized effectively for the comprehensive management of construction projects and the establishment of 3D BIM models, contributing to the field of smart construction management as a site-friendly technology for acquiring three-dimensional construction information.
