This study verified the effectiveness of Applied relaxation Program(AR) in adults complaining of symptoms of general anxiety, which has been reported to be effective in overseas studies. AR is a program created by combining a number of proven relaxation techniques, and the progressive relaxation method, a major relaxation technique, presupposes that the body responds to anxiety with muscle tension, which can reduce physiological tension and prevent anxiety from being triggered. In Generalized Anxiety Disorder(GAD), worrying thoughts, physical senses, impulses, and actions interact and become stronger over time. Therefore, we can recognize the vicious cycle of anxiety through AR and recognize that we can change the response to anxiety on our own by training to respond to it in different ways by reducing muscle tension by applying relaxation early. For this study, 40 adults with high levels of general anxiety were selected and random assigned 20 people each to the treatment group and the atmospheric control group, and AR consisting of about 50 minutes was conducted twice a week, a total of nine times. For each group, Penn State Concern Questionnaire(PSWQ), State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI-I), Worry Anxiety Questionnaire(WAQ), and Intolerance of Uncertainty Scale(IUS) were measured before and immediately after the start of the program and 10 days after the end of the program, respectively. As a result of conducting the Shapiro-Wilk Test to verify the normality of each measurement in the group, all measurements did not violate normality. In addition, as a result of conducting ANOVA to confirm prior homogeneity between groups, no statistically significant difference between groups was found in all measurements, so homogeneity between groups was also confirmed. t-test and covariate analysis(ANCOVA) to verify the effectiveness of the program showed a significant decrease in all measurements in the treatment group at the end of the program and 10 days after the end of the program. These results suggest that AR can improve pan-anxiety symptoms, including anxiety and anxiety, and are significant in that it recognizes control over anxiety and anxiety and functions as an applicable coping technique.
