Diagnosing dizziness in children is challenging as it is less common and exhibits different characteristics compared to that in adults. Arnold-Chiari malformation is a rare, transient condition of congenital or acquired origin. However, isolated dizziness as the first symptom of the Arnold-Chiari malformation is rarely reported in children. In this study, we report the case of a 14-year-old boy who presented with isolated dizziness. His neurological examination and vestibular function tests were normal. We performed brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), which confirmed a type 1 Arnold- Chiari malformation. Since the symptoms of dizziness were not severe, the patient was monitored while wearing a cervical collar that restricted neck movements to prevent the worsening of the symptoms. The possibility of congenital malformations must be considered during the differential diagnosis of dizziness in children.
