Vertical multistage centrifugal pumps are widely used in various industrial applications due to their high efficiency and capability to handle large flow rates and pressures. This study investigates the vibration trend characteristics for diagnosing various faults in a vertical multistage centrifugal pump. The fault types considered include cavitation, impeller detachment, and impeller blockage, with the analysis conducted using a test bed installed at the Korea Electronics Technology Institute (KETI). By analyzing the vibration signals associated with these specific fault types, this study aims to identify unique patterns that can serve as reliable indicators for early fault detection. Consequently, the results suggest that each fault type exhibits distinctive vibration characteristics, potentially enabling the development of effective diagnostic techniques. This research is expected to contribute to improving the reliability and maintenance strategies of industrial vertical multistage centrifugal pumps.
