In South Korea, apartment housing is one of the preferred residential forms, in which the majority of the population resides. This type of residence offers various social and economic benefits, but at the same time, it gives rise to the problem of residential noise. This includes inter-floor noise, neighboring noise, and even the addition of traffic and facility noises, leading to serious social conflicts. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the current status of residential noise issues that apartment residents in South Korea face, their level of awareness, and the need for problem resolution. The subjects of the study were 1,000 adult men and women aged 25 to 64 years, residing in Seoul, Gyeonggi Province, and six metropolitan cities. The survey was conducted online, intending to provide fundamental data necessary for devising solutions and developing technologies to address residential noise issues.
