In this paper, a multi-objective optimization design method is proposed. The goal of reduced alternating current (AC) copper loss and electromagnetic vibration multi-objective optimization design for new energy hairpin winding permanent magnet motors (PMSMs) is achieved. Firstly, the principle of AC copper loss generation in hairpin PMSMs is analyzed. The radial force and vibration generation sources are investigated. Furthermore, a multi-objective optimization design aimed at reducing the AC copper loss and dominant vibrations is conducted. The optimization method flowchart can be divided into three modules: design variable sensitivity analysis, response surface model construction and multi-objective particle swarm optimization algorithm calculation. The multi-objective optimization aims to minimize the AC copper loss and dominant vibration acceleration. Meanwhile, the output torque is not reduced, maintaining the high torque density output of hairpin winding PMSMs. Finally, simulation and experimental verification are conducted, and the effectiveness of the proposed multi-objective optimization method is proven.
