This study empirically analyzes the usage patterns of incomplete verbs in Korean and aims to identify co-occurrence patterns that have not been explicitly addressed in existing lexicographic descriptions. Using the written corpus from the National Institute of the Korean Language, the study quantitatively examines the frequency of incomplete verb and ending combinations and evaluates the strength of these associations using Cramér’s V coefficient. Additionally, Jaccard similarity analysis is employed to measure the degree of similarity among incomplete verbs, and network- based clustering is conducted to categorize them into structural groups. The results reveal that incomplete verbs combine with a broader range of endings than previously documented, and certain endings form prototypical combination patterns. Notably, deobulda (‘더불다’), which has been traditionally regarded as having severely restricted inflectional possibilities, was found to co-occur with seven different endings in corpus data. Furthermore, while some incomplete verbs exhibit strong constraints in their attachment to specific endings, others display greater flexibility, challenging existing definitions. This study refines the grammatical description of incomplete verbs and contributes to advancing the typological and lexicographic analysis of Korean verb morphology.
