The purpose of this study is to investigate the experience of prospective physical education teachers in using interactive AI for physical education classes. The subjects of the study were 43 students in the 2nd and 3rd grades of the Department of Physical Education who took the ‘Sport Pedagogy’ course held at ‘W’ University in the 2nd semester of 2024. The free-form journals written by the subjects after completing the 8th physical education class model theory-practice-assignment were collected as research data. The data were analyzed using the subject matter categories method, and the analyzed contents were visualized in tables and graphs to increase readability. The results of the study were as follows: First, in terms of effectiveness, interactive AI-based class demonstrations were helpful in improving physical education class demonstration methods and actual classes, and they led to the development of physical education teaching skills and created immersive class situations. Second, interactive AI-based class demonstration programs had limitations, errors occurred in the interaction process between the performer and AI, and the rapid development of AI technology caused anxiety in the performer. Third, it was suggested that improvements should be made to the interactive AI-based class demonstration program itself and to the system that operates the class demonstration. In conclusion, interactive AI physical education class demonstrations can be effectively utilized in pre-service physical education teacher education, but they should be used with some supplementation.
