최근 주말농장 및 특수작물 재배 농가증가로 인해 유지비, 제품가격, 편리성이 뛰어난 35마력급 이하의 소형 트랙터의 수요가 증가할 것으로 예상된다. 또한 실내 농업이 증가함에 따라 적은 유지비와 배출 가스 제로화의 장점을 가지고 있는 전기트랙터의 개발에 대한 관심이 커지고 있다. 그러나 기존의 전기트랙터 개발은 경험적인 방법이나 일부 시스템적인 개발에 국한되어 있다. 따라서 시제품을 제작하기 전에 신뢰성이 확보된 시뮬레이션 프로그램을 이용하여 트랙터를 설계하고, 구동시스템의 설계인자 최적화와 성능 측정을 할 필요가 있다.
트랙터는 차량과 달리 주행과 작업을 동시에 수행하기 때문에 2개의 PMSM(Permanent Magnet Synchronous motor)을 효율적으로 운용할 필요가 있다.
따라서 본 연구에서는 ASM(Automotive Simulation Model)을 기반으로 한 전기 트랙터 구동 시스템의 모델링 기법과 트랙터 섀시 모델을 제공하는 동역학 프로그램인 Carsim을 연동하여 트랙터의 성능을 측정하였다. 그리고 전기 트랙터 구동시스템의 검증을 위해 시뮬레이션과 실차 테스트에 대한 최대 출력, SOC(State of Charge), 주행가능거리, 최대속도를 측정 및 비교하였다. 시뮬레이션 연구를 통해 전기트랙터의 전반적인 동적특성에 대한 선행연구기반을 마련하였고, 전기 트랙터의 구동 시스템에 대한 설계 가이드라인을 제시할 수 있었다.
