From the ancient time, physical education has become a part of the health education and grown to be a independent study through ‘the Physical Education Study Movement'' in the middle of the 20th century. However, based on the scientific methodology of the general study, it is excessively subdivided, specialized, and scientific. Because of it, recently the identity crisis of the physical education occurred. Accordingly, this research analyzes the subdivision, specialization, and scientification of the physical education in the critical aspect. Also, based on ''consilience'' term which means ''crossing among the boundary of various studies'', it tries to suggest a new task for consilience physical education. This research, a new task for consilience physical education, regards communication as a keyword. As an alternative to the subdivision, specialization, ad scientification of the physical education, it suggests efforts of research vitalization among studies about physical education, changes of curriculum in colleges of physical science, and popular writing for communication between the public or majors other than physical education.
