‘창조’의 원천으로 작용하는 ‘창의성’은 오늘날의 교육에서 미래를 대비하기 위한 가장 주요한 교육적 목표 중 하나로 손꼽힌다.
문화예술교육은 문화와 예술의 중추적 특성인 ‘창조’를 핵심 열쇠로 활용하여 다양한 분야를 아우르며 통섭할 수 있는 미래형 인재를 양성하고자 하는 교육적 목적을 지향한다. 그리고 창의성의 향상을 강조한 교육적 추세는 오늘날의 보편적 교육의 방법으로 무용교육 방향으로도 뚜렷이 나타나고 있다.
최근의 무용교육은 ‘무용을 통한 교육(Education Through The Dance)’으로 정의 될 수 있으며, 이는 무용교육의 방향이 기존의 실기 중심의 전문교육이 아닌 인지적, 정서적, 신체적 측면에서 개인의 삶의 질 향상을 도모할 수 있는 전인교육이어야 한다는 것을 의미한다.
현재 우리나라에서 실행되고 있는 보편적 무용교육은 학교에서
실행하고 있는 방과 후 프로그램이나 창의적 체험활동으로 실행되고 있는 ‘학교 안 무용교육’과 학교 외의 사설 교육기관에서 이루어지는 ‘학교 밖 무용교육’으로 나눌 수 있다. 따라서 학교외의 사설 기관에서 실행되고 있는 무용교육 프로그램의 질적 수준 제고를 위한 다양한 측면에서의 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다.
그러나 선행 연구에 따르면, 현재 학교 밖 무용교육의 많은 비중을 차지하고 있는 사설무용학원의 무용교육 프로그램 상당수가 무용에 대한 실기적 역량 향상을 강조하는 전문교육이라는 것이 문제점으로 지적되고 있다. 특히, 창의성의 발현을 위한 교육이 가장 효과적인 유·아동기의 학습자들을 대상으로 한 무용프로그램의 부재가 큰 문제점으로 지적되고 있다.
이러한 이유로 영재를 위한 전문실기교육이 아닌 보편적 무용교육으로서 일반 유·아동을 대상으로 하는 창의성 기반 무용교육 프로그램 개발에 대한 필요성이 더욱 강조되고 있다.
따라서 본 연구에서는 일반 유·아동들의 창의성을 발현시킬 수 있는 교육 방법 중 스토리텔링, 브레인스토밍 방법을 활용하고자 한다. 특히 유·아동들의 창의적 사고 능력 증진을 도모하고, 무용에 대한 흥미와 성취감을 높일 수 있는 스토리텔링 기반의 보편적 무용교육 프로그램을 개발 및 제안하는 것을 본 연구의 목적으로 한다.
본 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 연구방법을 통한 내용은 다음과 같다.
첫째로 스토리텔링 기반 유·아동 무용 교육 프로그램 개발의 기초가 되는 이론적 배경으로 무용창작의 개념 및 교육적 가치, 스토리텔링의 개념 및 교육적 가치, 스토리텔링 기반 무용창작 교육의 교육적 가치, 그리고 스토리텔링의 교수-학습 방법에 대해 고찰하였다.
둘째로 이론적 배경을 토대로 스토리텔링 기반의 무용창작 프로그램을 개발 및 제안하였다.
셋째로 개발한 해당 프로그램을 실제적으로 현장에 적용한 내용을 정리한 공연기획서를 제시하였다.
넷째로 2014년12월13일 “춤추는 인어공주 비밀이야기” 연출, 안무,교육을 진행하면서 공연 실현을 통한 창의성개발에 미치는 효과에 대해 확인하였다.
마지막으로 본 연구를 통해 현재 무용학원에서 실행되고 있는 유·아동 무용 프로그램의 질적 향상 및 내실화를 도모하고자 하였다.
위의 실행방법으로 유출된 결론은 다음과 같다.
첫째로 유아들은 공연의 스토리에 이입하여 상상력의 기회가 점차 늘어났다.
둘째로 그에 따른 동작구성으로 인해 자신의 색을 찾고, 창의성 사고능력이 발전시킬 수 있는 계기가 되었다.
셋째로 단순한 공연이 아닌 스토리에 있는 공연으로 공연의 취지와 자신의 역할에 대한 정확한 분석을 통하여 자존감 향상, 자신감의 확대는 물론 신체적으로도 높은 성장을 보였다.
이에 학교 밖의 예술교육, 특히 사설무용학원들에서 실행되고 있는 기술만을 요하는 주입식 교육이 아닌 일반 유·아동들의 창의성을 발현시킬 수 있는 다양한 무용교육방법을 개발하여 창의성과 상상력 내적표현을 요하는 발전적 무용교육의 방법이 제시되어야 한다.

The ''creativity'' which is working as a original source of ''creation'' is considered as one of the most important main educational goals to prepare the future in current education.
The culture art education aims the purpose of raising future style talents who could embrace and consilient various areas by using ''creation'' a core key, which is pivotal characteristics of culture and art.
The educational trend which emphasis on the improvement of the creativity is clearly appeared in the direction of the dance education as current method of universal education.
The recent dance education could be defined as ''Education through the Dance'', and this means the direction of the dance education must be a education for whole man which could improve the quality of personal life in the aspect of cognition, emotion and body instead of existing specialized education which is focused on practice.
The normal dance education in this country could be divided as the ''dance education in the school'' which is after school program or creative experience activity and the ''dance education out of the school'' which is carried out by private institutes besides schools.
So the study in various aspects is being carried out actively to raise the quality of the dance education program of the private institutes besides schools.
But according to preceeding studies, what the most dance education program of the private dance academies which take great parts of the dance education out side of schools is the specialized education which emphasis on the improvement of practical dancing ability is pointed out as a problem.
Particularly the absence of the dance program for infants and children age learners to whom the education for creativity manifestation is most effective is pointed out as a big problem.
Because of these reasons, the necessity of developing the dance education program based on creativity for normal infants and children as universal dance education not the specialized dance education for the talents is getting more emphasized.
So in this study I will use story telling and brain storming method among the educational methods of manifesting creativity of normal infants and children.
Particularly development and suggestion of universal dance education program based on story telling which could improve the ability of creative thinking of the infants and children, and raise the interest in the dance and sense of the accomplishment will be the purpose of this study.
The studying method to achieve this purpose is as follows.
First, the concept of dance creation and its educational value, the concept of story telling and its educational value, the educational value of the dance creational education based on story telling, and the method of teaching-learning of story telling are searched as basic theoretical background to develop the dance education program for the infants and children based on the story telling.
Second, this study developed and suggested the dance creation program based on the story telling on basis of the theoretical background.
Third, The plan of performance was presented, which was summarized report of application of the developed program to practical site.
Forth, the effect of the creativity development through realization of the performance by carrying out the direction, choreography, and education of "Secret Story of Dancing Mermaid" at December 13, 2014 was confirmed.
At last, this study tried to improve the quality and internal stability of the dance programs for the infants and children which are being taught at current private dance academies.
The conclusion induced by performance of the method above are as follows.
First, the opportunity of imagination of infants is getting increased by empathizing in the performing story.
Second, this became a turning point of looking for their own colors and develop the creativity thinking ability by dance composition fitting to it.
Third, not only increasing self-esteem and strengthening of confidence but also high growth of physical aspect happened through the correct analysis of the purpose of the performance and their role, because of the performance with story not a simple performance.
So the developmental dance education methods which need inner expression like creativity and imagination must be suggested by developing various dance education method which could help to manifest the creativity of normal infants and children instead of technique teaching only education by rote as the art educations of outside of the school, particularly normal private institutes do.
