Traffic accidents in school zone or senior zone has increased due to growing amount of motor vehicles.
Following the ‘Rules for designation and management of protected areas for children, the elderly and the handicapped’ revised in 2011, there were efforts to make safe zones for transportation vulnerable. But considering their weak ability to avoid accidents, still there are not enough safe zones and proper operation for them. So there need more safety plans for the weaker party.
This study was conducted to make improvement in safety on school zone and senior zone with analyzing cause of accidents in these zones by domestic car accident statistics and comparing foreign law about safety zones. Also, this study examined flaw of low and it’s problem while applied in actual situation by interview a staff in charge of practice.
This study suggest that more recognizable warning signs like reflector or LED speed display and more speed cameras are recommended to protect children and senior.
