This research was conducted by dividing 19 students in 20s studying in N university of C city in Chung-Chyoung-Nam-Do Province into 2 groups; thoracic mobility excercise group and control group. This research was to study about effects of an application of exercising program to freestyle swimming records, functional mobility and spine morphology.
The freestyle records were measured using HS-3v stopwatch, and it measured records of 20m of crawl stroke. The functional mobility evaluation was done using FMS method to measure scores of deep squat, In-line lunge, shoulder mobility and rotary stability. The spine morphology was evaluated by using Formetric 4D. This measured trunk length, sagittal imbalance, coronal imbalance, kyphotic angle, lodortic angle and vertebral rotation.
The measured each variables were gone through the independent sample t-test, matching sample in time series t-test for each group respectively in order to verify an average difference before and after the experiment for each group. A statistical significance level for the hypothesis testing was set as α=.05.
The summary of this research results is as follows:

From the 25m crawl stroke records during 4 weeks of thoracic mobility exercise program, the records for the thoracic mobility exercise group was shortened from 20.88±1.99(sec) to 18.81±2.06(sec). There was statistical significance in this. The FMS scores were all changed in the thoracic mobility exercise group before and after the experiment; deep squat was changed from 1.70±0.82(score) to 2.40±0.52(score), in-line lunge was changed from 1.50±0.53(score) to 2.20±0.63(score), shoulder mobility was changed from 1.20±1.22(score) to 2.10±1.10(score and finally the rotary stability was also changed from 1.40±0.51(score) to 2.20±0.63(score). These changes show that scores in all variables were improved, showing statistical significance(p<.05).
However, in the spine morphology, trunk length was increased from 464.40±18.06(㎜) to 468.40±29.55(㎜). The measured degree for Sagittal imbalance was increased from 6.10±11.24(°) to 12.60±6.15(°), and the one for Coronal imbalance was also increased from 12.70±5.18(°) to 13.50±7.48(°). On the other hand, the measure degree for Lordotic angle was decreased from 36.50±7.67(°) to 36.40±8.14(°), and the one for Vertebral rotation was also decreased from 36.50±7.67(°) to 36.40±8.14(°). In this case, the statistical significance in all variables was not shown.
