한국 전통문양을 응용한 남성헤어 타투디자인 연구

사회적 변화에 의해 남성들의 미에 대한 관심도가 점점 높아져 가고 있으며 이러한 미에 대한 욕구는 시대적 흐름에 따라 전통적인 문화를 현대적으로 재해석하여 예술작품으로 헤어에 다양하게 나타나고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 한국 전통문양의 연구를 토대로 타투와 남성헤어스타일에 대한 선행연구, 관련서적, 문헌자료, 인터넷을 바탕으로 이론적 고찰을 실시하였고, 사진을 통하여 한국 전통문양과 헤어타투 이미지 특성을 분석하여 다양하고 창의적인 남성 스타일링 작품에 대한 아이디어를 제시하고 한국의 전통문양과 헤어타투의 특성을 현대적인 감각으로 조합하여 남성헤어디자인의 예술적 다양성과 한국문양의 예술적 가치를 추구하고 새로운 가치를 창출하고자 하는데 목적이 있다. 또한 더 나아가 남성 헤어 산업분야가 발전해 나갈 수 있는 기초자료로 제공하는데 목적이 있다.
실증적 연구에서는 한국 전통문양과 헤어타투를 기반으로 남성 헤어스타일을 분석하여 M사의 상반신 남성마네킹을 사용하여 총 9 작품을 제작하였고 그 결과는 다음과 같다.
작품 Ⅰ식물문양 중 ‘당초문양’ 에서는 당초의 넝쿨과 잎 문양 을 S선과 C선으로 표현하였고 곡선의 부드러움과 거친 남성의 이미지를 헤어타투디자인으로 연구 하였다. 이러한 스타일은 독특하고 자신감 있는 남성과 잘 어울리는 작품이다.
작품 Ⅱ 식물문양 중 ‘연화문양’ 에서는 연화문양을 후두부에 표현하였고 사이드부분은 기와를 연상시키는 문양을 넣어 연화문 수막새를 표현하였으며, 맘보스타일로 품위 있는 남성 이미지를 헤어타투디자인으로 연구 하였다. 이러한 스타일은 점잖고 지적인 남성과 잘 어울리는 작품이다.
작품 Ⅲ 식물문양 중 국화문양과 직선문양이 복합된 ‘떡살문양’ 이다. 국화의 향취와 경사스러운 식품인 떡에 조화되기 때문에 많이 이용되었고 꽃잎이 방사선으로 뻗쳐 있는 형태의 문양으로 국화의 고고한 기품과 부드러운 남성의 이미지를 헤어타투디자인으로 연구 하였다. 이러한 스타일은 로맨틱하고 도회적인 남성과 잘 어울리는 작품이다.
작품 Ⅳ 동물문양 중 거북이등에서 볼 수 있는 육각형의 ‘귀갑문양’ 을 비대칭으로 문양을 넣어 평범한 스포츠헤어스타일을 개성 있는 남성 이미지로 헤어타투디자인 하여 연구 하였다. 이러한 스타일은 진취적이고 스포티한 남성과 잘 어울리는 작품이다.
작품 Ⅴ 동물문양 중 ‘나비문양’ 에서는 후두부에 나비가 날개를 펼친 모양으로 자유로움과 아름다움을 댄디한 남성의 이미지로 헤어타투디자인 하여 연구 하였다. 이러한 스타일은 내추럴하고 차분한 남성과 잘 어울리는 작품이다.
작품 Ⅵ 기하문양 중 울주 천전리 암각화의 겹쳐있는 ‘마름모문양’을 표현하기 위해 마름모 안에 작은 마름모를 넣어 입체감 있고 고전적인 남성의 이미지로 헤어타투디자인 하여 연구 하였다. 이러한 스타일은 중후하고 품위 있는 남성과 잘 어울리는 작품이다.
작품 Ⅶ 문자문양 중 ‘아자문양’을 커트 라인을 따라 문양을 넣어 아자문양의 특징을 살려 개성 있는 남성의 이미지로 헤어타투디자인 하여 연구 하였다. 이러한 스타일은 외향적이고 진취적인 남성과 잘 어울리는 작품이다.
작품 Ⅷ 동물문양 중 ‘어골문양’은 빗살무늬라고 부르며 물고기 뼈의 모양을 토기에 표현한 문양으로 사이드와 후두부에 문양을 넣어 스포티한 남성의 이미지로 헤어타투디자인 하여 연구 하였다. 이러한 스타일은 운동선수들과 활동적인 남성과 잘 어울리는 작품이다.
작품 Ⅸ 자연문양 중 ‘물결문양’을 네이프 부터 곡선을 이용하여 파도치는 물결의 이미지를 헤어타투디자인 하여 연구 하였다. 이러한 스타일은 도회적이고 스마트한 남성과 잘 어울리는 작품이다.
이상의 결과와 같이 한국 전통문양이 헤어타투 디자인으로서 좋은 모티브로 손색이 없음을 알 수 있었다.
본 연구의 제한점은 마네킹으로 작품을 제작한 것이다. 앞으로 실제 남성과 여성, 모델로 헤어타투디자인을 연구 한다면 보다나은 연구결과가 나올 것이고, 전통문양 뿐 아니라 다른 모티브의 작품이 요구되며, 헤어디자이너의 작성을 바탕으로 남성헤어타투 시장을 하나의 디자인 분야로 자리 잡게 된다면 미용 마케팅 성과에 도움이 될 수 있을 것이라 본다. 헤어타투와 염색이나 파마, 컷 등과 접목되어 남성헤어스타일에 대한 다양한 연구가 이루어진다면 남성헤어 시장의 발전과 미용 산업의 확장에 도움이 될 것이라 사료된다.

Study on male hair tattoo design applying Korean traditional pattern

This research aimed at pursuing artistic diversity of male hair design and artistic value of Korean pattern by hair styling characteristic of Korean traditional pattern and hair tattoo in modernistic sense.
This research conducted theoretical consideration of tattoo and hair style based on study of Korean traditional pattern, searching advanced research, relevant book, literature material, and the internet, analyzed image characteristic of Korean traditional pattern and hair tattoo through photos, suggested idea as the work of male hair tattoo design, intending to provide basic material to apply male hair style design and develop male hair style.
In the empirical research, this research produced total 9 works by applying upper body male mannequin of M company analyzing male hair style based on Korean traditional pattern and hair tattoo. The result is as follows.
Work Ⅰ ‘Dangcho pattern’ among plant pattern expressed the vine and leaf pattern of Dangcho as S line and C line, researching softness of curve and tough male image as hair tattoo design. Such style goes well with a special and confident man.
Work Ⅱ ‘Yeonhwa pattern’ among plant pattern expressed Yeonhwa pattern in the rear side, and the side was expressed with Yeonhwamun Sumaksae by inserting the pattern that reminds of roof rile, researching refined male image with hair tattoo design based on mambo style. Such style goes well with a gentle and intelligent man.
Work Ⅲ ‘Wooden rice-cake pattern’ among plant pattern, combining
camomile pattern and straight line pattern. It was frequently utilized since it harmonizes fragrance of camomile and rice-cake, a congratulable food, researching proud grace of camomile and soft male image with hair tattoo design based on the pattern in the shape that petals spread radiately. Such style goes well with a romantic and urban style man.
Work Ⅳ researched normal sports hair style as a characterful male image hair tattoo design by inserting hexagonal pattern ‘tortoise shell pattern’ that could be seen in the back of a tortoise among animal pattern in asymmetry. Such style goes well with an adventurous and sporty man.
Work Ⅴ researched hair tattoo design with dandy man''s image to express freedom and beauty with the spread wings of butterfly in the rear side, with the ‘butterfly pattern'' among animal pattern. Such style goes well with a natural and calm man.
Work Ⅵ researched hair tattoo design with solid and classical male image by inserting a small diamond shape into a diamond shape to express overlapped ‘diamond pattern’ of Ulju Cheonjeon-ri Petroglyphs among geometry pattern. Such style goes well with a courteous and refined man.
Work Ⅶ Among the character patterns, this researched hair tattoo design with a characterful male image by saving the characteristic of Aza pattern by inserting ‘Aza pattern’ along with cut line. Such style goes well with an outgoing and adventurous man.
Work Ⅷ Among animal pattern, ‘fish bone pattern’ is called comb pattern, which expresses fish bone on the earthenware, and this work researched hair tattoo design based on a sporty male image by inserting the pattern into the side and the rear side. Such style goes well with sportsmen and active men.
Work Ⅸ researched surging wave image by using curve line from the nape with ‘wave pattern’ among the nature pattern. Such style goes well with an urban and smart man.
Based on the above result, Korean traditional pattern was determined to be a fine motif of hair tattoo design.
The limitation of this research is to produce the work using mannequin. Henceforth, the researcher expects better research results when researching hair tattoo design with the actual male and female model, also, it is necessary to research works based on other motif besides traditional pattern, and if male hair tattoo market is established as a design field based on hair designers'' efforts, it would be helpful for beauty treatment marketing accomplishment. Also, the researcher considers various researches on male hair style henceforth by combining hair tattoo, dyeing, perm, and cut, etc. would be helpful for development of male hair market and extension of beauty industry.
