짧은 머리 업스타일에 어려움을 느끼는 미용인들을 위해 길이별로 다양한 형태의 헤어피스를 제작하고 이를 활용하여 토대의 위치에 따른 짧은 머리 업스타일 디자인 방법을 제시하여 미용인들에게 짧은 머리 업스타일 시술시 도움이 될 수 있는 정보 및 기초자료를 제공하는데 본 연구의 목적이 있다.
첫째, 본 논문의 기초를 이루기 위하여 선행 연구논문, 단행본, 웹 검색 등을 통하여 업스타일에 대한 조형성과 디자인 기법, 헤어피스의 개념과 종류에 대한 이론과 개념정리를 하였고, 스타일의 모티브로 자연의 형태를 바탕으로 한 아르누보 문양에 대해 알아보았다.
둘째, 짧은 머리 업스타일 디자인을 위한 헤어피스를 5, 10, 15, 20cm의 길이로 제작하였다. 각 길이에 따라서 쉽게 제작할 수 있는 형태를 설정하였는데 자연의 형태와 유기적인 선을 모티브로 하였다. 그리하여 5cm는 C컬, 10cm는 C컬과 원통형, 15cm는 S컬, 20cm는 브레이드 피스를 제작하였다.
셋째, 업스타일 시술시 중요한 요인으로 두상의 조건에 따른 업스타일 디자인을 토대 위치, 질감, 옆머리 빗질방향, 백콤의 각도, 모량, 구도에 따라 분석해 보았다. 토대의 위치는 Nape Point(N.P), Back Point(B.P), Golden Point(G.P) 로 나누어 보았고, 질감은 비활동적인 질감과 활동적인 질감으로 나누어 활동적인 질감표현은 꼬기, 땋기, 웨이브 기법을 활용한 것을 살펴보았다. 옆머리 빗질의 방향은 N.P, B.P, G.P으로의 빗질의 방향을 살펴보았고, 백콤은 45, 90, 135도의 각도에 따른 볼륨의 정도를 분석하였다. 모량은 크라운 부분이나 네이프 부분에 모량이 적은 경우 헤어피스를 활용하여 업스타일 하는 방법에 대해 살펴보았고, 구도는 토대의 위치에 따라 삼각형 구도가 형성되는 것을 분석하였다.
넷째, 길이별 헤어피스와 두상의 조건에 따른 업스타일을 바탕으로 현장에서 쉽게 적용할 수 있는 짧은 머리 업스타일을 제작하였다. 기초가 되는 짧은 머리는 레이어 스타일과 그래쥬에이션 스타일로 나누어 N.P, B.P, G.P의 토대에 적용하였다. 디자인 모티브는 아르누보의 문양을 바탕으로 하여 마네킹에 5cm는 C컬 피스, 10cm는 C컬 피스와 원통형 피스, 15cm는 S컬 피스, 20cm는 브레이드 피스를 활용하여 총 30작품을 제작하였다.
다섯째, 마네킹을 통해 제작한 작품을 바탕으로 실제 모델에게 적용해 보았다. 레이어 스타일과 그래쥬에이션 스타일의 2명의 모델에게 10cm는 C컬과 원통형, 15cm는 S컬, 20cm는 브레이드 피스를 N.P, B.P, G.P의 토대별로 활용하여 24작품을 제작하였다.
위와 같이 연구한 결과는 첫째, 인모를 사용하여 길이별로 제작한 헤어피스는 길이에 따라 C컬, 원통형, S컬, 브레이드 헤어피스로 다양한 형태로 제작할 수 있었다. 그리고 헤어피스의 형태는 자연을 모티브로 하여 자연의 유기적인 선과 형태를 상징적으로 표현하였다.
둘째, 인모를 이용한 헤어피스는 그 제작 과정이 간편하며, 기존의 모발과 자연스럽게 어울린다는 장점을 가지고 있다. 뿐만 아니라, 모델에 상황이나 디자인에 맞추어 헤어피스의 개수를 달리하면 빠른 시간에 효율적으로 다양한 스타일의 업스타일을 완성할 수 있음을 알 수 있었다.
셋째, 같은 인모피스를 활용하더라도 토대의 위치에 따라 업스타일의 이미지가 다양하게 연출될 수 있음을 알 수 있었다.
본 연구는 짧은 머리 업스타일에 어려움을 느끼는 미용인들을 위해 길이별로 다양한 형태의 헤어피스를 제작하고 이를 활용하여 토대의 위치에 따른 짧은 머리 업스타일 디자인 방법을 제시함에 그 의의가 있다. 또한 미용인들에게 짧은 머리 업스타일의 기초자료가 되어 현장에서 업스타일 실무에 도움이 될 것으로 기대한다.
차후 연구에서는 다양한 토대의 위치, 여러 길이와 형태를 활용한 헤어피스를 제작하거나 많은 수의 헤어피스를 사용하여 다양한 형태의 업스타일 디자인을 제시한다면 현장에서 짧은 머리 업스타일에 어려움을 겪고 있는 많은 미용인들에게 도움이 될 것으로 기대한다.

For hairdressers who have difficulty in short hair up-style, various types of hairpins can be manufactured for each length, and using this, the method of designing a short hair up-style according to the position of the basis can be provided to the hairdressers providing basic data.
First, in order to establish the foundation of this paper, the theories and concepts about the formality, design technique and hairpiece notion of upstyle were made through previous research papers, monographs, and web searches, searching the Art Nouveau pattern based on a motif of the style in the form of nature.
Secondly, the hair pieces for short hair-style design were made with lengths of 5, 10, 15, and 20 cm. I set the shape which can be easily produced according to each length in the motif of natural form and organic line. Thus, 5 cm is made of C-curl, 10 cm of C-curl and cylindrical, 15 cm of S-curl and 20 cm of braid piece.
Third, we analyzed the up-style design according to the condition of the head as an important factor in the up-style procedure according to the base position, texture, direction of the side hair combing, angle of backcomb, amount and composition. The location of the basis was divided into Nape Point (N.P), Back Point (B.P), and Golden Point (G.P). The texture was divided into inactive texture and active texture, and I looked that active texture expression was applied using twine, braid, and wave technique. The direction of combing of the side hair was examined in directions of N.P, B.P, and G.P, and backcomb analyzed the degree of volume according to the angles of 45, 90, and 135 degrees. In the case of small amount of crowns or nape, I used hairpins to study how to up-style. The composition of triangle was analyzed according to the location of basis.
Fourth, based on the length of the hair piece and the condition of the head, we made short hair up-style that can be easily applied on the spot. The basic short hair was divided into layer style and graduation style and applied to the foundation of N.P, B.P, G.P. Based on the pattern of the Art Nouveau, total of 30 pieces of mannequin was made using 5cm of C-curl piece, 10cm of C-curl piece and cylindrical piece, 15cm of S-curl piece and 20cm of braid piece.
Fifth, based on the work produced through mannequins, I applied it to real models. For the two models of layer style and graduation style, 24 pieces were made using 10cm for C curl and cylindrical shape, 15cm for S curl, 20cm for braid piece by N.P, B.P, G.P.
The results of the study are as follows: First, hair pieces made by length by using human hair could be made into various shapes such as C-curled, cylindrical, S-curled and braid hair pieces according to their length. And the shape of the hairpiece symbolizes the organic line and form of nature with the motif of nature.
Second, hair pieces using human hair are easy to make and have a merit of naturally matching with existing hair. In addition, it was found that if the number of hair-pieces is changed according to the situation or design in the model, various kinds of upstyle can be completed efficiently in a short period of time.
Third, it was found that even if the same human piece is used, the image of up-style can be produced in various ways according to the position of the basis.
The purpose of this study is to propose a method of designing a short hair up-style according to the position of the foundation by making various types of hair pieces for the hairdressers who have difficulty in short hair up-style. I also hope that it will be helpful for hairdressers practicing in the spot as basic data for short hair up-style.
In subsequent studies, if there is a creation of a hairpiece that uses a variety of locations, lengths, and forms, or a variety of hairpiece to present various types of up-style designs, many of the hairdressers I hope it will help.
