The philosophical thoughts of Taoism including‘Dao-fa-zi-ran(道法自然)’,‘Yin-yang-ping-heng(陰陽平衡)'',‘Xing-shen-shuang-xiu(形神雙修)'' became the basic theory of Taoist regimen by recognizing the relationship between human beings and heaven and by presenting the intrinsic principle of the human body. In this study, we purport to explore the meaning of the nature of regimen through analysis of the Taoist regimen thoughts. The body philosophy based on the Taoist regimen thoughts can be categorized into‘Zi-ran(自然)’body philosophy,‘Qi-hua(氣化)’body philosophy, and‘Tian-dao(天道)’body philosophy.‘Zi-ran(自然)’body philosophy is a process in which all physical activities restore the naturalness of the body as a human body has natural its characteristics.‘Qi-hua(氣化)’body philosophy emphasizes the circulation of‘Qi(氣)’and the effect to the body in exercising as life-sustaining, producing and changing in the body are the processes of gathering, spreading, and transforming of‘Qi(氣).‘Tian-dao(天道)’body philosophy emphasizes the importance of achieving Taoism health preserving thoughts of body and heart identity theory as the process where the human body training follows and converges with the principle of‘Tian-dao(天道).’ In modern society, humans pursue improvement of quality of life and personal health condition along with economic progress. Human beings are becoming more interested in sport exercises with an aim to make healthy body through exercise. However, as elements such as economic, political factors are too intervening, amusement, autonomy, and local tradition of popular sports themselves are deviating from the essential characteristics. In elite sports, as people pursue to win at the costs of the philosophy to gain mammonism, they neglect the ethics, many problems such as problem of prohibited drug use and game manipulation occur continuously. At the same time, as many countries place more emphasis on the national interests of sports, competitions among countries are intensifying. Therefore, this study aims to solve the problems discussed in sports practices by combining modern Taoist regimen thoughts and the modern sports. In popular sports, ‘Gui-ren-zhong-sheng(貴人重生)'' is respectful of the rules and characteristics of human nature in sports, and‘Xu-ji-jing-du(虛極靜篤)'' emphasizes that popular sports should go in an autonomous direction rather than having forcibleness, and emphasizes the importance of a more focused exercise from the heart rather than exercise only for show purposes, and‘Ti-dao-yang-sheng(體道養生)'' emphasizes on the need to plan sports activities that conform to the local characteristics and lifestyle by the rules of‘Tao (道),’which is inherent in nature, human beings, and sports. In elite sports,‘Wu-wei-zhi-wei(無爲之爲)'' does not pursue extra benefits and values other than sports, and maintains human nature and restrains from desire, and‘Dao-fa-zi-ran(道法自然)'' focuses on the phases and unity of heaven, earth, human and nature and recognizes the determinacy and indeterminacy of 道(Tao). and‘Xing-shen-shuang-xiu(形神雙修)'' emphasizes that human life, as a unity of mind and body, should be approached in this context. In other words, the taoist regimen thoughts are meaningful in setting up a new paradigm of modern sports through emphasizing on the intrinsic value of sports in sports practice and reflection of man made problems.
