본 연구에서는 한국무역협회(KITA)가 선정한 해외에서 출시된 아이디어 상품들과 출시 이전의 콘셉트 디자인 단계의 iF Design Award 수상 작품들을 통하여 BCC의 적용성 및 활용성을 분석하고, 분석 대상품목 각각에 대해 BCC 코드들로 분석을 진행하여 해외에서 출시된 아이디어 상품과 출시되지 않은 해외 아이디어 작품들의 내재된 발명적 사고원리를 도출하고 차이점을 알아보았다. 그리고 BCC 각각의 코드들이 창의성의 요소들에 어떠한 기여를 하고 있는지 파악하기 위하여 해외 아이디어 상품들과 콘셉트 작품들에 적용된 BCC 코드들의 내재된 창의성 요소를 분석하고 차이점을 알아보았으며 이러한 분석결과들을 종합하여 실제 출시된 해외 아이디어 상품들과 출시되지 않은 해외 콘셉트 작품들의 차이점을 종합적으로 비교 분석 하였다.

이러한 분석을 통하여 다음과 같은 내용을 확인 할 수 있었다.
첫째, 실제 출시된 해외 아이디어 상품과 출시되지 않은 iF Design Talent Award 수상 작품들에서 공통적으로 결합, 속성의존, 재정의 코드의 빈도가 상대적으로 매우 높다.
둘째, SIT의 5가지 코드로는 출시된 상품과 콘셉트 작품에 대하여 약 49% 이하의 설명력을 보이고 있으며, SIT를 확장한 11가지 BCC 코드들로는 90% 이상의 설명력을 보이고 있기 때문에 SIT 5가지 사고도구를 11가지 BCC 코드로 확장이 필요하다.
셋째, 출시된 해외 아이디어 상품들 속성의존, 용도통합, 분리, 제거, 복제, 대체 코드들이 창의성의 요소에서 유의미한 코드로 도출되었고 출시 이전의 콘셉트 디자인 단계인 iF Design Talent Award 수상 작품들에서는 용도통합, 재정의, 결합, 분리 코드가 창의성의 요소에서 유의미한 코드로 도출되었다.
넷째, 출시된 신상품에 있어서 속성의존이 적용된 상품의 독창성과 실용성이 특히 높게 평가되었는데 IoT의 적용 때문이라고 해석할 수 있으며 4차 산업혁명의 확산으로 이러한 IoT기술을 포함하고 있는 속성의존 코드는 더욱 중요하게 될 것이다.
