본 연구는 조음문제를 보이는 아동들에게서 조음문제와 함께 구강안면 운동기능성에 문제를 보이는지 확인하고, 모음 발성 시 음질에 따른 음향학적 변수들은 어떠한 특성을 보이는지 확인하고자 하였다.
대상은 5세에서 11세까지 조음문제를 보이는 아동 36명을 대상으로 하였다. 대상자들 모두 안면비대칭 검사인 sunnybrook scale로 구강안면 운동기능성 문제를 평가하였으며, 음질검사에 유용한 모음 연장발성 평가를 시행하여 음향학적 변수들의 특성을 함께 비교분석 하였다.
조음문제와 구강안면 운동기능성 및 음성 변수들의 상관관계를 확인한 결과, SB점수가 낮을수록 PFR, vFo, vAm, dB_range는 높아지는 음의 상관관계를 보였다. 또한, vAm이 높아지면 dB range가 높아지는 양의 상관관계를 확인하였다.
결론적으로, 조음문제를 보이는 아동들은 구강안면 운동기능성에도 문제를 보일 수 있으며, 음성의 파라미터들과도 관련이 있음을 시사하는 결과로 해석된다. 조음문제를 보이는 아동들의 조음 평가 시 SB 평가와 모음 연장 발성 평가를 병행해야할 것으로 사료된다.
