The purpose of this dissertation is to restore the essence of the Baptism. The baptism has fallen one of multitude of activities in the modern church although it should be the only sacral activity with the Eucharist.
To accomplish the purpose of this dissertation, it will be developed through two methodological discussions. The first is a discussion of how the baptism of Jesus Christ, located on center-line of New testament and Old Testament theology, was able to become a pre-historic redemption prototype, presenting the model through a prototype of baptismal renew. For there were already earlier baptismal models before the baptism of Jesus Christ.
The other is to examine the possibility and limitations of mission in the central theme of this dissertation by observing the Anabaptist community that appeared with the Reformation forces of the 16th century as a model of baptismal renew from a historical, empirical, and biblical perspective. For many of the inconsistencies (non-ecumenical) in ‘baptism’ and ‘practice’ that are practiced in the field of mission today are similar to the church environment in the time of confusion about baptism at the time of the Anabaptist.
I have done the following research according to the purpose and method of study mentioned above. At first this study would be reflected the setting of life (Zeit im Leben) on why it doesn''t work as the nature by recognizing baptism that we are practicing in the position of life. And with the issue I would be look into a certain section in church history, there we will meet a execution communities of the only sacral activity who called ‘anabaptism''. They was trying to put it into practice directly. This study should be thus deduced another position of their life while they were treated as a heresy because of radicalism of their conduct. For it has a similarity with a church itself that we encounter in today''s church environment. All courses in this study would be the methodical frame that this dissertation tries to purpose so far; when this study finished all the methodical process in this dissertation, it would be expected to be provided with new possibility of application through this―the nature and origin of the baptism.
