본 연구는 발포형 비타민 C를 이용한 구강세정 및 복용 행위가 대상자들의 구강건강상태와 구강환경상태의 변화를 알아보고 구강건강상태 및 구강 환경상태에 따른 구강내 치주질환 유발 세균 수의 변화에 미치는 영향에 대해 파악하고자 시행하였다. 동의대학교 생명윤리위원회의 IRB 승인 후 2018년 9월 13일부터 2018년 11월 30일까지 B시 D대학교 임상치위생학실습실 내 방문자 중 치위생과정에 근거하여 프로그램에 참여한 실험군 24명 대조군 21명 최종 45명을 선별하여 수행하였으며 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다.
1. 대상자들 중 발포형 비타민 C를 이용하여 구강세정 및 섭취를 한 실험군과 발포형 비타민 C를 이용하지 않은 대조군 모두 실험전과 실험 후 구강 내 치주질환 유발균의 수는 감소하였다.
2. 대상자들의 구강건강상태에 따른 치주질환 유발균 수의 변화에서 실험군과 대조군에서 실험 전과 실험 후 구강 내 치주질환 유발균 수는 모두 감소하였지만 실험군에서 Aa & Red Complex에서 BOP 수치가 평균 이하, CAL이 평균 이상, DMFT가 평균 이하일 때 유의하게 나타났으며, Orange Complex에서는 CAL이 평균 이상, DMFT가 평균 이하일 때 유의하게 나타났고, 대조군에서는 Orange Complex에서 DMFT가 평균 이하에서 유의하게 나타났다.
3. 대상자들의 구강건강상태에 따른 구강환경상태변화에서 실험군의 구취의 정도에 따른 BOP와 CAL, CAL에 따른 구강 내 치주질환 유발균수의 변화에서 유의하였다.
4. 대상자들의 구강환경상태에 따른 치주질환 세균 변화는 Aa & Red Complex에서는 실험군의 구강 내 ATP검사에서 유의하게 나타났으며 대조군에서는 O’leary Index에서 유의하게 나타났다. Orange Complex는 실험군의 ATP 검사에서 유의하게 나타났다.
본 연구결과를 종합적으로 분석한 결과 치위생과정에 근거한 구강건강관리 프로그램이 구강내 치주질환 유발 세균 수를 감소시키나 구강내 치주질환 유발균의 감소에 발포형 비타민 C 세정 및 복용이 이루어진 실험군에서 구강 내 치주질환 유발균 수의 감소가 유의하게 나타나 구강건강을 위한 비타민 C 세정 및 섭취뿐만 아니라 더불어 치위생과정 근거 기반 수행이 이루어졌을 시 효과가 더 명확히 나타난다 하겠다.
