This study focused on the relationship among emotional abuse, hostile automatic thoughts and relational aggression, and more specifically, the mediating effect of hostile automatic thoughts in the relationship between emotional abuse experience and relational aggression of employees. A total of 246 employees aged 19 or older participated in this study by completing the following questionnaires online: Emotional Abuse on a scale of Child Abuse, HAT(Hostile Automatic Thought Scale) and RAS(Relational Aggression Scale). The results of this study were as follows: First, emotional abuse had positive correlation with hostile automatic thoughts and relational aggression, and hostile automatic thoughts had positive correlation with relational aggression. Secondly, hostile automatic thoughts partially mediated the relationship between emotional abuse experience and relational aggression. Based on these results, the significance of this study, cognitive interventions in counseling, and proposals for the follow-up study were discussed.
