Report Errors
This study presents that the relationships between the basic characteristics of vehicular traffic flow, space mean speed(Vs), density(K) and traffic volumes(Q) in urban highways. The travel time, density and traffic volumes of only a passenger car platoon in 6 routes of urban highways were investigated. The following conclusions from this research were drawn: 1.The relationships between space mean speed and the density and traffic volumes are as following formulars: Vs=94.34-1.043K, Q=88.745K-0.916K2 2.The relationships of the space mean speed and the traffic volumes are also following formulars; for under the stable traffic flow, Vs=102,209-0.023Q, for under the all over traffic flow, Q=90.45Vs-0.96Vs2 3.On the basis of foregoing, it has shown that the value of road traffic capacity in the basic section is 2150 vehicles/hr per lane.
