In this study, we got some conclusion with image analysis and
preference for exterior color patterns. Through a computer simulation
for the streetscape of the commercial area in Suwon city.
The follows are better the exterior color patterns of the streetscape
unified with brown, different colors with each other and disordered
exterior advertisements.
1) Unified colors that have pale and light grayish tone with signboards
at the lower part of buildings(front of first or second floor) and
protruded signboards. This pattern has the properties of the total
unification with high-lightness, low-chroma, warm color system or grayish
tone, the liveliness with partial accent of tone and the image of bright,
vivid, warm, and cheerful streetscape.
2) The pattern that has the unification of chromatic color of warm color
system in white-color-mixed, light-grayish tone, in order to avoid too
much strong exterior color tone of buildings. This pattern has the
properties of the unification of white and high-lightness, low-chroma,
and similar warm color system tone and the image of light and calm streetscape.
