In structural control technology, control systems which reduce the response by damping ratios artificially augmented, have various types. These are generally classified by two types. One is an active control system and the other is a passive control system. In the active control system, the response reduction effects of structure are mainly attributed to the increase of damping ratio more than of the stiffness in dynamic domains. So with high damping dampers system matrices which have the effects eqivalent to the effects of the active control may be performed. If the active control is used, damping and stiffness matrices of structure are changed because of controller. These changed damping and stiffness matrices are nonsymmetric, and don't have physical meaning. And it is important that we make symmetric and physically meaningful matrices with dampers as structural elements. Because without the controller structure can be controlled easily and effectively eqivalent to the active control effects. And sensitivity analysis may be used to gain the damping ratios and the frequencies eqivalent to the active control. It is necessary that this study about damping and stiffness matrices that have physical meaning should be performed. So this methods can be used for optimal positions and quantities of dampers which improve comfortableness and serviceability against the windy and seismic excitation.
