This paper is a study of Kim Dong in's short stories, researching from the green literary point of view. Kim Dong in is known as an aestheticist and a naturalist writer. But his short stories also have a feature of the green literature, so he can be classified as a green writer. The feature of the green literature presented in his short stories is, to put it briefly, a dichotomy between town and nature. This bisecting vision is composed of an ill feeling against town and civilization, a good feeling for nature and country. From the start of Dong in's work, it has functioned as a fundamental cognitive structure.
Until the 1930, this dichotomy has gone through a process divided into four levels. First, it present as a V-figured plot, as the hero or the heroine shifts from a town to a country, his or her condition changes from descent to ascent. Second, it can be observed only at characters's dream, dreaming nature at a dark space in town. Third, as the trust in the nature s ability curing and cleaning the real world becomes weak, the dichotomy is doubted. Forth, a new dichotomy is made, it considers the relation between characters of the space and character of the man.
Thus, Kim Dong in is a writer who concerned about the relation among nature, civilization and man. And he is a writer who worked hard to recover the malady of civil world with belief in worth of nature.
