There are many critical developmental periods among preschool children and especially their health in this period can be the base of their health throughout their lives. There are many problems in health education for preschoolers because their cognitive ability is still developing. Therefore, the health education programs in this period of time must fit for the development of their cognitive ability and their health care needs. Especially, the concept of their cause-result must be considered.
To enhance the ability of self care for preschoolers and to accomplish this goal, the topic of the program was decided as 'dental health education'. The dental health education program consisted of texts, cartoons, discussions, demonstrations, puzzle games and variable activities.
Dental health is very important to daily life as well as. It is useful to instruct dental health especially in preschool age. But the development of instructional program for preschooler have some difficulties because of their developmental characteristics.
The process of program development were setting the instructional goal, analysing the subfunction, analysing the starting behavior, developing the illustration and topic of discussion, games and criterion referenced test items. Formating evaluation was conducted for correcting the project.
We can accomplish the reduction of medical expenses and suffering as well as the health improvement through the best planned educational program.
