Park Mog-wol, who had a modern bitter experience of the exodus from the rural community to the urban area due to the rural community's decay, and then his important subject was the restoration of family-community rather than the discovery of nature. Especially, he impressively made a poetic character who lived in an urban space desolately aware of the meaning of family through publication of several poetry after his publication of poetry in the middle years.
The images of family which appeared on Park, Mog-wol's poetry have the three interconnections as in the following. The first, the paternal love which is mild, supporting his family. The second, the maternity to pursue a family's rest-oriented. The third, the divinity to ensure the perfection of family.
He, who pursued the mild paternity and the maternity praying for a family peace through conversion to the divinity when his works reached the latter period. There is much reason for discussion of the divinity which appeared on his poetry together with an image of paternity and maternity.
Meanwhile, his poetry was rated low due to the limit of Cheongnokpa group. We could not discuss a history of Korean modern poetry if it excludes his poetry which showed us a process of development the level of imagery form up to the level of religious content about love toward a daily life and a study of nature. Hence, I hope that his poetry will be continually studied as an example appropriate to the case. (Korea University)
