Most of them say that the official editing rules which is enacted by the administrative organizations(ministry of education and KICE etc.) restrict the autonomy on writing process of social studies textbook. This assertion is partly right.
The 7th curriculum endows teachers, schools, local offices of education etc with the larger autonomy than past curriculums. It is the same about writing process of social studies textbook. The extent of autonomy was expanded.
This article focuses on whether the writing groups have the sufficient abilities.
that is to say, have the professionalism. For this research, we gathered the data through questionaire, interview, contents analysis etc.
Most of writing groups learned the decision making model, but they didn't have practiced textbook analysis and textbook writing on the basis of this model. Also, It was found that the high schoo] textbook(society and culture) which was written in 2002 year didn't reflect the goals of the social studies(society and culture)
sufficiently.
From these facts, We can conclude the writing groups don't have sufficient
professionalism on writing process of social studies textbook.
