The Censorship system in Japanese colonial period gave birth to the ‘Bokja(Fuseji)’ of Korean Literature. At same time a lot of Bokja had a purpose of escaping censorship by cheating censorship authority. This paper has two purposes: One is to classify the Bokja of Korean literature in Japanese colonial period; The other is to examine the possibilities and limits of communication through the Bokja. Bokja can be classified into three types by the time it was made; bokja made in writing stage, in editing stage, and printing stage. The conclusions I reached through examining a lot of documents at that time by this classification are as follows;
1) Bokja made by writer in writing stage, had the least difficulty in communication.
2) Bokja made mainly by editor in editing stage showed double meanings: It was a kind of censorship by publication-capital, and at same time publication-capital's attempt to escape censorship.
3) Printing stage’s bokja, made by publisher, had occurred after official censorship process. One of this cases, erasing printed letters by ‘pout(native brush pen)’, could transmit the meaning to reader to a considerable extent contrary to the intend of censorship authority.
As conclusion, the Bokja of Korean literature in Japanese colonial period was the results of censorship and at the same time the trace of resistance against censorship. The resistance had carried out by co-effort of Korean writers, editors, and readers, and had considerable effect on escaping censorship. However, Japanese Colonial Authority had intensified censorship after since early 1930s(as an example, they prohibited Bokja), and these efforts to escape censorship disappeared gradually.
