The primary purpose of this paper is to inquire the system of lexical honorific level in korean. The first place we have a look on the existence of common words and vulgar words in korean. We have checked up the existence of the two contrast system of 'high level' and 'horizontal level'. If we leave out vulgar words in lexical field of korean, the system of lexical honorific level comes to two contrast system. The second place we have a look on whether it is accord of the grammatical honorific system and the lexical honorific system in korean. We have checked up certain of true of the two system. We have the pick up of the lexical elements and grammatical elements to make out a sentence. If it is not accord the honorific level of the lexical elements with the honorific level of the grammatical elements in a sentence, that's done an ungrammatical sentence. And it was confirmed that the lexical honorific system have two levels by the features of [politeness] and [vulgarity]. After all we could describe the system of lexical honorific level in korean as follow two contrast system. Namely the system of lexical honorific level in korean have two contrast system of 'high level' and 'horizontal level'.(Daegu University)
